Balvenie Founders Reserve 10 years old
William Grant started this distillery in 1886. The first distillation took place in 1893. William Grant continued to work at the distillery until he died in 1923 at age 83.
They still grow its own barley, still malts in its own traditional floor maltings and still employs coopers to tend the casks and a coppersmith to maintain the stills. Very unusual these days.
Color: Gold
Nose: Honey and peat
Palate: Sweet and dry. Spice
Finish: Lingering and honey
This is a great scotch from a great distillery. You will want to try it yourself.
