The Argyllshire Highlanders and Sutherland Highlanders are well known arms of the Scottish army. Argyllshire Highlanders were raised in 1794. Sutherland Highlanders were raised in 1799. In 1881 the two regiments amalgamated to form The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. They have a long history of fighting for their country.
